Whether you are a Coach, Scout, Player or Parent, accurate numbers matter.
Statistics allows a truer picture of where/who the player is & where he/she can go.

Information is an integral part of what we do. A lot of that information is evidence backed by data and analytics. The numbers aid us in evaluating the translatable impact of recruits, it helps us in the way we play and metrics we track to be sure we are hitting our marks on both sides of the ball. It helps us in preparation for our opponents.Kim EnglishHead Coach George Mason

Our decisions are informed by 3 factors:

1. Personnel – Ability, make and work ethic of our players/team.

2. Feel – Tangible/intangible information, human factors.

3. Numbers – Analytics: Data driven information that tells us the trends on offense and defense that impact success.

With the analytics movement here to stay, the importance of not just having data but having the RIGHT type of data has become essential. Traditional box scores will always have their place in the game but being able to look beyond just that in critical instances throughout a contest have become a need. Being able to interpret data and then apply what we see with our eyes is what can truly separate those that are good and those that are great. Tommy Massimino Jr.Basketball Operations, Orlando Magic
